Patrick Cooper’s Fantastia Festival Coverage
FFCC member Patrick Cooper attended the 2015 Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal. Here’s a wrap-up of his coverage.
Montreal’s Fantasia Festival is heaven for genre fans. Running for three weeks in July-August, the festival screens hundreds of films – many of them world and North American premieres. For the second year in a row, FFCC member Patrick Cooper attended the first week of the festival as a journalist for the horror site Bloody Disgusting. For six days, Patrick devoured as many films as possible. The programming was so satisfying, the only hitch was having to sacrifice a screening to be able to catch something else.
Highlights of what Patrick was able to consume include the French Hitchcockian thriller Un Homme Idéal, the Canadian existential vigilante film The Demolisher, and the Austrian vampire send-up Therapy for a Vampire.
